Borrowing a laptop

We have laptops for current CSUEB students to check out, on a first-come, first served basis.

Please stop by the Library Learning Commons Desk on the first floor of the CORE building on the Hayward Campus to borrow a laptop. If you're not able to come to campus, contact the Library Learning Commons by phone (510-885-4152) or email (techelp@csueastbay.edu) to find out availability and request a laptop be shipped to you. For shipment, you will need to provide your complete address (No P.O. Boxes) and telephone number.

Returning a laptop

If you need to return a laptop that you borrowed, please visit the Library Learning Commons Desk on the first floor of the CORE building on the Hayward Campus during open hours. If you are on the Hayward campus but the CORE building is closed, you can return the laptop to one of the white Library book drop boxes: 

• 2 white boxes located on West Loop Road (near the University Police Department)
• 1 white box next to the ground floor elevator near the large west-facing entrance to the CORE building
• 1 white box near the east-facing entrance on the first floor of the CORE building

If you are not able to come to campus, please email the Library Learning Commons at stsc@csueastbay.edu to request a pre-paid return box be shipped to your home so that you can return the laptop via UPS. 

Renewing a laptop

Students who are enrolled in courses for the following term can renew laptops by contacting the Learning Commons by phone (510-885-4152) or email (techelp@csueastbay.edu). To complete the renewal, students will need to complete a Device Checkout Agreement and provide proof of enrollment.
