I am unable to login to the Library's resources from off-campus. What should I do?

Answer

Note: The login process will only work if you are a currently registered CSUEB student, staff or faculty (not alumni). Alumni do not have off-campus access to the Library's databases.

If you're experiencing issues accessing our databases from off campus, please try the following troubleshooting tips:

  1. Access the databases from the Databases A-Z webpage; this will prompt you to login using your NetID/NetIDPassword
  2. If your NetID login doesn't work, check to make sure your NetID/password are working for other campus websites (Email, MyCSUEB, Canvas, etc.). If not, you may need to reset your NetID password
  3. Try a different web browser (Switch from Chrome to Firefox, for example)
  4. Try an incognito or private tab in your browser
  5. Clear your browser's cache and history
  6. Restart your computer
  7. Check to see if your location (like your workplace) blocks IP authentication
  8. Test to see if you can access some of the Library's database vendors
    1. EBSCO: http://proxylib.csueastbay.edu/login?url=http://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?authtype=ip,uid&profile=ehost&defaultdb=aph
    2. ProQuest: http://proxylib.csueastbay.edu/login?url=http://search.proquest.com/abicomplete/advanced?accountid=28458
    3. If you can access one but not the other, please chat with a Librarian so that we can alert the vendor whose databases are not working

If you try the above options and you are still unable to login to the library's databases from off campus, please chat with a librarian and we will help you troubleshoot the issue.

Note: The login server may be down Sundays at 4am California Time for updating.
