I have books checked out. How can I return them?

Return books in person

There are three book drops (secure bins that hold returned books) available on the Hayward Campus:

  • In the parking area at the basement level of the former Library building on West Loop Road (near UPD)
  • Next to the ground floor elevator near the large west-facing entrance to the CORE building
  • Near the east-facing entrance on the first floor of the CORE building

There is also a book return slot on the Library Services / Reserves / Check Out Desk on the first floor of the CORE building.

The Concord Center has a book drop outside of the Library building for returning books.

 

Return CSUEB books to a different CSU campus closer to your home

You can return CSUEB and/or CSU+ books that you have checked out to another CSU Library, and that CSU Library will send those books back to CSUEB. Please note that your item(s) will not be checked in (removed from your Library Account) until they arrive at CSUEB. Books from any CSU library can be returned to any other CSU library.

 

Return books by mail

Please mail items back to the Hayward Campus library using the below address. Unfortunately, Cal State East Bay is not able to cover return mailing costs. The United States Postal Service does have a discounted rate for "Media Mail" which includes mailing books (more information on Media Mail from the USPS).
