Q. Why does PsycInfo keep logging me out?

PsycInfo keeps asking me to login even though I haven't logged in and shows an error message.

When it does load, it doesn't let me see full-text links to articles or load the PDFs.

Answer

ProQuest, who supplies access to PsycInfo and Sociological Abstracts, is aware of an issue that sometimes results in pages not loading properly in the database. They have let us know that the issue is being worked on, but that it is intermittent which makes it harder to resolve.

However, there are options available should you find these databases not loading correctly.

  1. OneSearch is a robust option for searching for literature. Though it searches almost all of our library materials at once, you can narrow it down by Subject and Resource Type, per the screenshots below. If your students have found articles they are interested in, searching OneSearch for the article title will typically result in full-text links to the article.

  2. You can search related databases, as seen in our Subject Guides. For example, good options for psychology-related research include Social Science Citation Index and PsycArticles.
